WWP Scangroup PLC has grown its operations into Nigeria, through its fully owned subsidiary, Oglivy. This move has been a long time coming, following the legal battles that were only concluded earlier this year.
During the launch, chief executive, Bharat Thakrar reiterated Scangroup’s commitment to enhancing the group’s services to its existing clients in Africa’s most populous country.
Fiona Uwagwu, has been appointed the Managing Director of firms operations in Nigeria. She is currently Scangroup’s Managing Partner. “Nigeria is one of the biggest economies in sub-Saharan Africa and creates both challenges and opportunities for an innovative communications firm such as Ogilvy. We will make use of our global network advantages, coupled with our local professional services experience, to provide strategic communications support to our clients here,” she said during the event.
Ogilvy’ Chief Executive Mathieu Plassard added that their entry into Nigeria would enable them establish a localised creative communications solutions team to further strengthen their ability to offer clients focused attention.
