Equity Bank's Fintech Subsidiary Finserve launches mKey app

Equity Bank's Fintech Subsidiary Finserve has today launched the mKey app. According to Finserve MD Jack Ngare, the app is built on 3 Key parameters; Communication, Financial & Convenience  as it aims to integrate social, financial, and lifestyle pillars. . The app is available on google App Store https://t.co/X0t6lSABuU. This is Africa's first Keyboard App.

Some of the functionalities include:

  1. The app allows you to send money, borrow loans, shop and pay bills.
  2. The apps market place  gives designers and or developers, a platform to build widgets and customize yetumoji packs which can be monetized
  3. Set out to enable Diaspora remittances by September, so you can send and receive money globally

They join a space that is already dominated by the likes of CBA-Mshwari, KCB Mpesa, Tala, Branch, Okash amongst many others.

This comes in at a time when Central Bank is also pushing to regulate mobile money lenders and protect the public from the high interest rates.
